Diary Entry 1: Widget.

My first diary entry!
Thought i would be creative and try to name them all.
So i got a new widget today for my books. I love it!

I might as well reveal that i did opt for the easier option in books and im now reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I promise i will read Dracula next it’s just my brains still tired from the last classic novel. I thought i would read something a little lighter this time. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks’s books. I always seem to get bored halfway in and just watch the movie version instead, and then obviously the book is ruined by then because i know what’s going to happen. It’s a vicious cycle. But i thought maybe this would ease my brain a bit and it has. It’s actually quite good. The main characters a bit of a drama queen but i think it’s only gonna get better from here. I do own a lot of Nicholas Sparks’s books but never get round to finishing them. Was thinking maybe later on down the road i might have a marathon of all his books with the hope of finishing them. Who knows, i might even get into them more.

Sad news about Elizabeth Taylor's death. What a life she had though. Think i will watch Giant at some point this week as a tribute. Love that film. Plus James Dean is pretty fly too. Won’t do any harm.

Rest in peace Miss Taylor xx

Have a good day everyone xx

Review: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I’ve just finished reading pride and prejudice and absolutely loved it. It’s my first Austen and it certainly won’t be my last. I’m not going to ruin it for you if you haven’t read it but I’m just going to encourage you to read it yourself.

It’s a romance set in the 19th century in England and follows the story of the Bennet sisters and their journey to find love and marriage. I’m sure the names Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet will be familiar to you even if you haven’t read it. It’s said to be Austen’s best but I’m going to have to test that theory myself. Plus, perfect excuse to read some more.   Even though it was a romantic drama, i couldn’t help cracking up sometimes and so i would class it as a comedy too. Great if you don’t want anything heavy.

It’s nice sometimes to be transported into another era, away from all the technology and crudeness of today, and read about the simple life of spending time socialising face to face and writing letters to loved ones. Imagine marrying the first person you fall for within a couple of times of meeting each other. Risky maybe, but there is something sweet about it too. Saying that thought, i dread to think what my life would be like now if id of married my first love. It would have been a train wreck!

It’s beautifully written and i was taken in by how realistic the characters were. I found myself continually through the book thinking "she reminds me of my sister" and "that’s what i would have done". In my eyes it was fab and a definite must read.

For those of you who have read it, my favourite character was Mr Bingley; perfect gentlemen and such a sweet and funny man. I expect a lot of you are thinking "What?! What about Elizabeth and Darcy?" Yes i did love them too. I don’t know, i guess i root for the cute men. By far my favourite part of the book was Mr Darcy's last letter to Mr Collins. Cracks me up every time i think of it. If you have read it then let me know what you thought.

Next on the reading list is Dracula by Bram Stoker. Although i might opted for something a little lighter in between these classics.

Will keep you posted.

Happy New Blog!

Well it’s a new start so let’s bang on with a new blog. The reason for the new start is that i have just turned the ripe old age of 21, which means the next chapter of my life, which mean do something new. So i will give you a quick intro on what this blog is going to be about.

My life is pretty straight forward. I live in the north of England with my lovely boyfriend Dan. I love my independence and I’m a real house bunny. I would rather stay in watching a film than going down the pub every weekend. That’s not to say that i don’t go out once and a while and if you are an avid reader you will probably become quite familiar with my once a month party antics.

I love books especially classics literature. Art, movies, cooking, history, inspiration and just general living. I know it sounds cliché but i really do. I love those little moments in life that everyone misses except a few and i hope to share them with the world.

So watch this space :)
